Plain English First
Here’s the honest version, then the legal version. Both matter. Read both.
The short version:
- Everything on Credit & Cashmere is educational content. None of it is personalized financial advice.
- Credit & Cashmere itself is not a licensed financial advisor, registered investment advisor, broker, tax preparation firm, law firm, or fiduciary. The brand may employ, contract with, or feature licensed professionals (including CPAs and other subject-matter experts) for content, but those individuals are not acting as your personal professional, do not know your full situation, and are not liable for any decision you make.
- No FDIC insurance. We do not hold your money. We do not invest your money. We do not connect to your bank accounts — ever.
- The Ledger calculates projections from the numbers you type in yourself. Those projections are estimates, not promises.
- Before making a major financial decision, talk to a licensed professional who knows your full situation.
1. Educational Content Only — Not Financial Advice
Credit & Cashmere produces blog posts, videos, social content, email newsletters, free resources, and The Ledger — our interactive financial tools at creditandcashmere.com/app/ (together, the “Content” and “Tools”). All of it is created for educational and informational purposes only.
Credit And Cashmere LLC is NOT:
- A financial advisor or financial planning service
- A CPA firm, tax preparation firm, or accounting practice
- A registered investment advisor
- A registered broker-dealer or broker of any kind
- A fiduciary to you
- A debt counselor, credit counselor, or credit repair organization
- A bank, credit union, or financial institution
- A law firm or your attorney
Paying for a membership does not change any of this. A paid tool is still an educational tool.
About the professionals behind our content: The founder of Credit & Cashmere is a CPA licensed in Michigan, and we may, from time to time, employ or collaborate with other licensed professionals (CPAs, attorneys, financial coaches, or other subject-matter experts) to develop our educational content and tools. None of those individuals — including the founder — are acting as your personal CPA, your personal attorney, your personal financial advisor, or your personal anything. They do not know your income, your debts, your goals, your filing status, your state-specific rules, your dependents, or any of the dozens of details that personalized advice would require. They have no professional duty to you, no engagement letter with you, and no liability for any decision you make based on our content.
This CPA license is held individually and is not extended to Credit And Cashmere LLC. Credit & Cashmere is not registered as a CPA firm and does not provide attest, assurance, tax preparation, or other regulated public accounting services.
If you need someone who is professionally responsible for advising you, hire that person directly. We can help you understand concepts; only your own licensed professional can advise you on your situation.
Nothing in our Content or Tools constitutes professional financial, investment, tax, legal, or accounting advice tailored to your situation. We are not licensed to provide those services through Credit & Cashmere, and we don’t try to.
Any financial decision you make is your own. Before making a meaningful one — paying off debt, taking out a loan, investing, filing taxes, dealing with creditors — consult a qualified, licensed professional who knows your full picture.
2. No FDIC Insurance, No Money Held, No Bank Connections
Just so there’s no confusion:
- We do not hold your money. Not in any account. Not in escrow. Not anywhere.
- We do not have access to your bank accounts. The Ledger has no bank connections, ever — no Plaid, no aggregation, no screen scraping. We do not ask for bank login credentials, and we never will. Every figure in the app is one you entered by hand.
- We do not see your card number either. Payments run through Paddle, our merchant of record.
- Nothing on this site is FDIC-insured, NCUA-insured, or SIPC-protected. We are not a depository institution. There is no insured account associated with using our tools.
- We do not make investment recommendations. We may discuss general investing concepts educationally, but we will never tell you to buy or sell a specific security.
- We do not offer brokerage, lending, or banking services.
3. The Ledger Calculates Estimates, Not Guarantees
The tools in The Ledger at creditandcashmere.com/app/ — the Monthly Budget, Paycheck Planner, Snowball/Avalanche Calculator, Savings Goals, No-Spend Challenge, Net Worth Dashboard, and any tool we add later — use formulas to calculate things like:
- Projected debt payoff dates
- Total interest paid over time
- Savings goal completion dates
- Snowball vs avalanche method comparisons
- Net worth projections
- Budget allocation breakdowns
These calculations are estimates based on the data you enter. They are not predictions, not promises, and not personalized advice.
Actual outcomes will differ from any projection because real life involves variables our tools can’t see:
- Interest rate changes
- Missed or extra payments
- Income changes
- Surprise expenses
- Fees, penalties, or rewards the calculator doesn’t model
- Changes in your spending behavior
A few specifics:
- A “debt-free date” in our tool is a calculated estimate assuming you make every payment on the date and amount the tool models. Reality varies.
- An “interest saved” comparison between two payoff methods is a math comparison only. It does not account for behavioral factors like which method you’ll actually stick with.
- A “budget health score” is a relative indicator, not a credit score, not a financial health rating from any official body.
Always verify your own math, and treat any projection as a planning tool, not a forecast you can bank on.
4. No Guarantees of Outcomes
We make no guarantees about results from using our Content or Tools, including:
- How quickly you’ll pay off debt
- How much you’ll save
- Whether you’ll improve your credit score
- Whether you’ll get approved for a loan or qualify for a specific rate
- Income, salary, or career changes
- Any specific financial outcome
Personal finance results depend on your income, expenses, habits, market conditions, life events, and decisions outside our control. Individual results vary, and not everyone will see the same outcomes — even with the same tools.
5. Accuracy and Your Responsibility to Verify
We test our formulas, content, and tools carefully. We still make mistakes sometimes. So can you when entering data.
Your responsibility:
- Double-check the data you enter into any tool
- Verify the math on any output before acting on it
- Don’t make a major financial decision based solely on a number our tool generated
- Cross-reference our educational content with primary sources for anything important
- Talk to a licensed professional for anything substantial
If you find an error in our content or tools, please report it to [email protected] and we’ll fix it.
6. AI-Assisted Content
Credit & Cashmere uses AI tools to help draft blog posts, brainstorm content, build formulas, and write marketing copy. All AI-assisted content is reviewed and approved by a human at Credit & Cashmere before it’s published. We never feed the data you enter into The Ledger into any AI system.
AI can be wrong. Sometimes confidently wrong. So can spreadsheets and humans. Always fact-check any specific claim, number, formula, or recommendation before acting on it. This is especially important for (but not limited to):
- Tax rules, deadlines, and bracket amounts (verify with the IRS or a CPA)
- Interest rate calculations (verify with your actual lender or loan agreement)
- Legal questions (verify with an attorney)
- Investment information (verify with the SEC, FINRA, or a licensed advisor)
- Healthcare account rules (HSAs, FSAs — verify with your benefits provider)
We’re proud of how we use AI to move faster. We’re equally serious about the limits.
7. External Links and Third-Party Content
Our site and content may link to external websites, products, services, and resources. We are not responsible for:

8. Affiliate Disclosure
Credit & Cashmere participates in affiliate marketing programs. Some links on our site, in our emails, and in our social content are affiliate links. If you click and buy or sign up through one, we may earn a small commission. Your price does not change.
In plain English: If we link to a product or service and you buy it through our link, we might get a small cut. You pay the same price either way. We only recommend things we genuinely use, trust, or believe will help you.
Our promises:
- We only recommend things we’ve used, researched, or genuinely believe will help
- Commissions never influence our editorial perspective
- We disclose affiliate relationships in content that contains affiliate links (“This post contains affiliate links” or similar) and through hashtags on social (#affiliate, #ad where applicable)

9. Earnings, Results, and Testimonials
Any financial results — ours, customers’, or community members’ — that we share are individual examples shared for educational and motivational purposes. They are not typical, not average, and not guaranteed.
Important: Any income figures, savings results, or financial outcomes shared on this website, social media, emails, or other communications are individual results and are NOT typical. Your results will vary based on your individual circumstances.
Do not make financial decisions based solely on results you see in our content, on social media, or in testimonials. Your situation is yours. Your results will reflect your situation.

A note from us: We built these tools and write this content because we want women — ALL women — to feel less alone with their money.
